Explanation of the process

A power-flush or jet-flush, is the process which central heating systems are cleaned of sludge, debris and rust  by using powerful jet-flush pumps with chemical agents and magnetic filters. The jet-flush pump and magnetic filter is connected to your central heating pipe work and water is pumped through the system at high velocity, dislodging and moving the sludge out of the system. This, process is repeated until the system is clean.

The majority of systems suffer from black iron oxide contamination, which creates these thick sludge deposits and are the result of corrosion taking place within the radiators and other metallic components. These particles bond to all components often causing premature failure of pumps and valves. When they contaminate the boiler heat exchanger and pipe work, it results in dramatic efficiency loss. Tests have shown that the even a minimal build up results in a serious drop in boiler efficiency
A single power-flush will remove an average of 3kg of sludge and other deposits from an old heating system.

The central heating cleaning process is made more effective by specialist cleaning chemicals added to your system 2 weeks before the power-flush
Once the corrosion and sludge deposits have been loosened in the radiators and heating pipes, they are purged from the heating system with clean water. At the end of the flushing process the heating system contains fresh water and reinstatement of the system to normal operation takes only a few minutes.
